Presbyterian St. Luke's Healthcare System ("P/SL") is a multi-hospital provider system serving the Denver-metro area. Previously, GMB had advised a community-based board in the acquisition of P/SL from American Medical, Inc., arranging the necessary financing to close the transaction and complete construction of the new hospital facility. GMB also previously had advised P/SL in the acquisition of real estate assets that resulted in tremendous savings in occupancy costs.

When P/SL's chairman and board became concerned that P/SL needed to be a fully integrated system in order to compete effectively, GMB was retained as the company's advisor. GMB successfully negotiated the merger of P/SL with Swedish Medical Center, creating HealthONE, the largest hospital system in the Denver metropolitan area.

GMB's unique history with and knowledge of P/SL, as well as its understanding of both not-for-profit and for-profit operating environments, enabled it to successfully advise the board throughout the process of the ultimate creation of HealthONE.
